The Chosen Platform

What’s the point of having a website if every time you need to make a little change (or a big one), you have to call a web master or designer to do it for you? Our sites are developed with this in mind. When I hand the site over to you my goal is for you to never have to call me again - unless it's to tell me how much you love your site.

All of my sites are developed with content management systems (CMS). These are web-based platforms that allow the site owner (you) to update and manage your website yourself. In other words, you won’t be calling a web designer every time you need to make a change to your site.

You may know about CMS sites in terms of blogs and for the most part that’s what they are used for. But in recent years, content management systems offer much more than blogging, such as mailing lists, memberships, discussion forums, newsletters, and more. There are many blog platforms to choose from, such as Wordpress, Typepad, Movable Type or if you’re seeking a very basic blogging solution, Blogger. I’ve worked with them all, but I work most often and most enthusiastically with Joomla! I encourage you to check out the web portfolio to see the diversity and possibility available with Joomla!

Why Joomla?

I’ve tested and worked with a lot of different web technologies and while they all have their benefits and challenges, Joomla offers the most in terms of support, usability, scalability, and over all functionality.

The sheer number of developers and engineers making components, modules, and plugins is astounding. I’ve been hard pressed to find a time when I couldn’t find something to meet mine or my customer’s needs when it comes to getting something to happen on the site.

Adding video, images, registration components, dynamic content, social interaction, newsletters, mass mailers, comments, you name it, it’s out there. I’ve tested hundreds, if not thousands, of different components and modules from all over and have found the ones that work best in most any situation.

Want to add a section later? No problem? Can’t afford or can't decide if you want comments, video, or a poll on your blog right now? Do it later.

Have a particular need and request? Ask me. I’ll do what I can to figure it out and find a solution for you.
